Picasso was a Spanish artist who spent most of his adult life in France. Picasso had an enormous influence on 20th century art, and is nicknamed the father of modern art. Following his “Blue Period,” he started cubism, and continued to passionately adopt new styles. With a career spanning over 70 years, Picasso never stopped producing creative works, and continued to create huge pieces across a wide range of genres including sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, and paintings.
He has been working as a photographer since 1971. The technique of using x-ray photographs reveals a unique world with subtle details and beautiful images.

From 2009 he became an associate professor at the Kyoto City University of Arts. He is unveiling many works with ripples on the surface of water and reflections of light as motifs, and which are a fusion of simple forms with rich poetic sentiment.
A painter born in Paris. After studying at the Ecole nationale superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he won 3rd prize in a 1946 young painter’s exhibit, and in the 1950s he participated in the Venice Biennale and continued to rise in the eyes of the Paris art world. He deepened his friendships with Fujita Tsuguharu and Maurice Utrillo, and Pablo Picasso in particular had a large influence over him.

Degas, famous for his paintings that depict dancers, wasn’t limited to the theatre and stage, but drew his source material from scenes of dancers practicing as well, and became popular as a specialist in depicting ballet.
The massive number of sketches left by Degas reveal that he repeatedly studied individual poses and his natural depiction of the momentary movements of dancers were the result of countless repeated repetitions and practice.
In this sketch, the dancer is drawn with a sense of bulk, with bold and powerful lines. We have no idea of the expression on the model’s face, and that shows how focused Degas’s interest was on the bodily movements.
A French painter and sculptor. Participated in the first Impressionist exhibit, and was a central figure amount Impressionist painters. However, unlike Impressionist painters who painted numerous outdoor landscapes full of light and color, he painted indoor scenes, especially those featuring ballet dancers, laundry workers, and bathing women.
He viewed the world around him with an observant piercing gaze, and created superb works including oil paintings, pastels, prints, and sculptures.
